Charity Bike Ride – May 2022

Together with Berkeley Homes, our Chairman, Michael Tierney, completed a 400 mile bike ride from Milan to Geneva where he raised money for Home Start Charity.

Home Start plays a vital role in supporting parents and giving their children the best possible start in life. Our positive impact and contributions make a real difference to the lives of many children and families across the UK.

The fundraising event consisted of 4 consecutive days of cycling for around 100 miles a day. They began their cycle in Lake Geneva where they cycled into the Swiss Alps on the first day. On the second day, their route took them from Sierre, through the Valley, past the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park and then down into the town of Airolo. Day three brought them back into Italy, through various villages and ending the day in Lake Como. On their fourth and final day, the cyclists left Como and cycled around the edge of the lake before heading up the Patron Saint of cycling – ‘Saint Madonna del Ghisallo’, which is a famous climb that often features in the ‘Giro d’Italia’. They proudly ended their cycle in Milan after 4 long, hard days of cycling!
